Description
John Adams was President of the United States from 1797-1801. He chose what is now called the Abigail Adams bedspread for his bride. This bedspread is our most beautiful matelasse bedspread. It is woven in an elegant “Trapunto” style. This style is also called “stuffed work”. The "Trapunto Style" originated around the 14th century in Sicily and became popular in England and France in the 1600’s, before it was introduced by European immigrants to America.
Woven with the finest quality cotton yarns, our Abigail Adams bedspreads are machine washable and will not shrink nor fade.
Bedspreads are finished with knotted string fringe.
